"Ota x Ishii DELA LOVER" is a variety show where Bakusho Mondai's Hikari Ota and TV Host Ryoji Ishii delve into the classics of the Tokai region! This time, it's the Aichi Most Desirable Town Ranking. We surveyed 274 real estate agents in 54 municipalities in Aichi. We will announce the top 10, excluding Nagoya City, which was ranked 1st last time. We will also introduce recommended summer outing spots and summer gourmet food! (Prices are as of the time of filming)

Japan's largest direct sales market!

The 10th place in the "Aichi Most Desirable Town Ranking" is "Obu City". In the survey, comments included "Tablets are provided to each child" and "It became famous overnight when wrestlers like Saori Yoshida trained there."

It is located south of Nagoya City and is the gateway to the Chita Peninsula. "Shigakkan University" is a prestigious women's wrestling school that has produced 8 gold medalists, including Saori Yoshida and Kaori Icho.

The recommended spot by Mr. Kurashige, representative of "Izumi Real Estate" (formerly of BOYS AND MEN), is "Genki no Sato". The annual number of visitors is about 2 million. It is a complex facility where you can enjoy agriculture and food from the Chita Peninsula, including restaurants and experience farms.

Among them, the most popular is Japan's largest direct sales market. Since the products are directly purchased from farmers, fresh vegetables and fruits are available at a bargain price. "Uotaro", a popular fresh fish market in the Tokai region, is particularly bustling.

The recommended summer gourmet in Obu City is "Noko Tonkotsu Tsukemen (with smoked egg)" from "Noko Tsukemen Bros". It is about an 8-minute walk from Kyowa Station. The noodles are made from whole wheat flour, and the dipping sauce uses Chita brand pork, which has a strong sweetness and umami. It is a rich tonkotsu flavor that has been simmered for two full days.

The library with the highest number of book loans in Japan

The 9th place in the "Aichi Most Desirable Town Ranking" is "Anjo City". In the survey, comments included "Nursery schools are free from age 3. For the second child and subsequent children, ages 0-2 are also free" and "Fruits are famous. I often buy figs and pears at direct sales markets."

It is ranked 1st in the "Child-rearing Satisfaction Ranking" nationwide (Akachan Honpo Child-rearing Support Discovery WEB / November 2025). "Beijing Meshi" (a local soul food) and "Denpark", which recreates the streets of Denmark, are famous.

The recommended spot by Mr. Tsuji of "Sekisui House Real Estate" is the complex facility "Anfore". It is about a 4-minute walk from Anjo Station. The "Anjo City Library and Information Center" on the 2nd to 4th floors has the highest number of book loans in Japan in a year (Japanese Libraries Statistics and Directory 2025). Approximately 1.84 million books are borrowed annually, which means about 9.8 books per person. The environment where you can enjoy reading, such as tatami spaces and snail-shaped sofas, is also a reason for its popularity.

There is also a unique system called "reading passbook". When a person who has finished borrowing a book puts it into the machine, the lending date, title, etc., are recorded in the passbook. On the right side of the passbook, the price if the book were actually purchased is displayed. You might feel a little bit like you got a good deal.

The recommended summer gourmet in Anjo City is "Izumi-an Honten". It is about a 15-minute drive from Anjo Station. It is a long-established restaurant that will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027. The specialty is "Hiyashi Somen Matsukaze Teishoku". The slightly thicker somen noodles are original noodles made in their own factory.

Enjoy summer on a streetcar

The 8th place in the "Aichi Most Desirable Town Ranking" is "Toyohashi City". In the survey, comments included "The climate is warm and agriculture is thriving" and "There's gourmet food and nature. It's a really comfortable place to live."

It is located on the border between Aichi Prefecture and Shizuoka Prefecture. According to Honda Tarles of "Izumi Real Estate" (formerly of BOYS AND MEN), Toyohashi has many famous products. These include the chocolate snack "Black Thunder", quail eggs with the No. 1 domestic share, and "Toyohashi Curry Udon" which contains tororo gohan (grated yam rice) inside curry udon. Honda's top recommendation is "Yamasa Chikuwa". Yamasa was founded in 1827 and has been loved in Toyohashi for about 200 years.

Streetcars are only found in Toyohashi City in the Tokai region. The limited-time summer "Noryo Beer Train" also operates. For about an hour and a half from Toyohashi Station, you can enjoy all-you-can-drink beer and bento boxes while riding the streetcar.

The recommended summer gourmet in Toyohashi City is "Spaghetti Chao Honten". It is located on the second floor of a building about a 2-minute walk from the east exit of Toyohashi Station. It was founded in 1965 and currently has 4 stores in Toyohashi City. For Toyohashi's ankake spaghetti, you can choose an iron plate instead of a plate to keep it warmer.

A town amusement park with free admission

The 7th place in the "Aichi Most Desirable Town Ranking" is "Kariya City". In the survey, comments included "Administrative support is generous, so there are many parks and playgrounds, making it easy to live in" and "It's a transportation hub with no traffic jams and easy commuting to surrounding towns."

It is located in the center of Aichi Prefecture. The "Kariya Highway Oasis" parking area, which has over 9 million visitors annually, is famous.

The recommended spot by Mr. Furukawa of "House Bokan" is "Kariya City Traffic Children's Park". It is about an 8-minute walk from Kariya Station. It is a free admission facility where you can enjoy 14 types of rides, including a roller coaster.

The numerous authentic attractions, such as the "Great Poseidon" where the ship sways greatly, which you wouldn't expect to find in a city, all cost 50 yen per ride. If you buy a ticket book, you can enjoy 11 rides for 500 yen, which is about 46 yen per ride!

The reason for the low price is that Kariya City operates it not for profit, but for the purpose of learning traffic rules and creating playgrounds.

The recommended summer gourmet in Kariya City is "Patisserie Fraise". You can enjoy unique shaved ice that looks great on Instagram.

The "Corn Nama Kakigori" has corn sauce, fresh cream, and corn on top. The chef, Sano, who trained at a Michelin one-star restaurant in France, developed it. He got the hint from the cold corn potage he made at the restaurant, and instead of the bavarois that was served with it, he used fresh cream, and finally added a soy sauce-based sauce that goes well with corn.

The new product is "Paprikan," a shaved ice made with mandarin oranges and paprika.

Close to over 10 types of animals

The 6th place in the "Aichi Most Desirable Town Ranking" is "Nisshin City". In the survey, comments included "Quiet residential areas spread out, highly recommended for families" and "Affordable rent and a comfortable town with rich nature."

The recommended spot by Mr. Tomita, manager of "Minimini Nisshin Store", is "Aichi Bokujo (Aichi Farm)". It is about a 40-minute drive from Nagoya City via expressway. It is a farm where you can meet over 10 types of animals, and admission is free.

At the "Animal Square" (admission fee required) inside the farm, you can interact with animals and feed them for a fee. You can also experience horseback riding for a fee.

The recommended summer gourmet in Nisshin City is the gelato at the shop inside Aichi Farm. Currently, there are 6 flavors, including farm milk, yogurt, and strawberry. The deep richness created by mixing milk from Holstein cows and Jersey cows on the farm is a characteristic. The most popular is the simple "Farm Milk" flavor.
