CBC reporter Ayaka Nakamura personally walks and investigates the hidden charms of the Tokai region's areas in "Ayaka Nakamura's 10,000-step Treasure Hunt."

This time, we explored the Mizuho area, where the Paloma Mizuho Stadium, which has completed 5 years of renovation, and the Yamazaki River, a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, flow. We will introduce the people, gourmet food, and spots we found there, ranked from 1st to 3rd in our "Impressive Ranking"!

3rd Place: Authentic with a kick of spice! Affordable Nepalese Curry

The location shoot was carried out at the end of March. The investigation began with interviews with cherry blossom viewers in a bustling park.

Armed with this valuable information, we headed to "Soup Curry & Nepal Restaurant Bihani," located about a 10-minute walk from Paloma Mizuho Stadium, right near Mizuho Undojo Nishi Station. Opened three years ago, this restaurant is popular for its authentic use of spices.

The most popular item is the "Curry Lunch," which comes with naan larger than Nakamura-ana's face. And the naan is all-you-can-eat!

In the future, on days when there are soccer matches at Paloma Mizuho Stadium, a large number of customers are expected, so preparations are underway to accommodate groups.

2nd Place: "iiNE MARCHE" where specialty stores gather, offering fresh ingredients at reasonable prices!

Next, we headed to a spot highly recommended by a cherry blossom viewer we interviewed, who said, "It's super crowded, you should definitely go!" It's "iiNE MARCHE," which opened in April 2024, about a 40-minute walk from the studio.

This is Mizuho Ward's new kitchen, housing famous specialty stores in various genres, such as "Maruaki" for meat, "Uotaro" for fresh fish, and "Kanei Seika" for fruits and vegetables. Among them, "Uotaro Mizuho Store" is lined with fresh fish caught that morning in Minamichita.

1st Place: So rich it's moving! A famous soft-serve ice cream shop nestled in a residential area

"Finally, dessert!" So, we headed to a shop we had checked out along the way.

About a 10-minute walk from the stadium. "Week・End," quietly nestled in a residential area, is a famous shop that has been committed to homemade soft-serve ice cream made daily with its in-store machine for 30 years.
Actually, this place also doubles as a lesson classroom, making it a place of relaxation for local children.

"(Q: What's your recommended menu item?) Basically vanilla. With toppings, kinako kuromitsu (roasted soybean flour and brown sugar syrup) is recommended."

"The vanilla is very rich! There's plenty of kinako and kuromitsu too. It might be the richest soft-serve ice cream I've ever had."

Starting from a park with cherry blossoms in full bloom, we found exquisite gourmet foods in Mizuho Ward in 10,000 steps. It was an investigation that satisfied both our stomachs and our hearts.
